In English present perfect and past perfect are always
formed with the auxiliary verb “have”.
for instance:
I have said, I had said
I have come, I had come
In German and Netherlands (and many other languages) most
verbs also form the perfect tenses with the auxiliary verb “have” but some verbs
form the perfect tenses with the auxiliary verb“be”.
for instance:
Ich habe gesagt,
ich hatte gesagt I have said, I had said
Ik heb gezegd, ik had gezegd I have said, I had said
Ich bin gekommen, ich war gekommen I have come, I had
come
Ik ben gekomen, ik was gekomen I have come, I had come
